Daycare description / philosophy

I am a stay home mom looking to provide childcare service from my home.

-I will provide childcare from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday to Friday in my home.
-I have two spots available (Will take bookings for September)
-I will provide snacks and 1 lunch meal + drinks
-Cost is $30/day (works out to $2.85/hour)
-If looking for before and after school childcare, I will provide snacks and the price would be $15/day. (There is a bus stop at the end of my street and I am able to meet child there if needed.)
-Will do summer care, for those who are ony looking for those 2 months.

About Myself:

My name is Meghann S (I will provide my full name upon request), I am a 32 year old mother of an 9 year old girl and a 1 year old boy. I am also a step parent to a 5 year old girl and an 12 year old boy. I am a stay at home mom until my youngest child starts school (in five years), and I currently provide child care for one three year old boy Monday-Friday. I have two openings availiable.

I have completed a four year degree, BA Major in Sociology and Anthropology from Dalhousie University, graduated in 2005. I have also completed the Pharmacy Technology program at the Nova Scotia Community College, Waterfront campus, graduated 2012. I have Canadian Red Cross Standard first aid/CPR Level C, and my Occupational Health and Saftey certificate. I also have my certificate for "Incredible Years" parenting course through outreach support. As well as childcare I also work for Gateway homes. This is a small options home where I care for intellectually challenged individuals.

My experience with caring for children began in 1996 babysitting my own sibling, and many other neighborhood children. I worked caring for children until 2001 when I left home for university. After I finished my degree I starting working as a nanny in Halifax. There I cared for twin boys the age of one (I can provide more details and or references by request).

I am a young, outgoing, energetic person. I enjoy the outdoors and I am a strong beleiver that excersice is a very important part of a child's day, not only for the body but also the mind. I enjoy music/art and reading and writing. I am very creative and I am always thinking of new, fun activities to do with the children. I am also a warm, compassionate person, and very easy to get along with. I have a well balanced daily routine including crafts, outdoor activities (walking distance to park.) I have a fenced in back yard with toys, flower garden and sand box, there is a play area with toys, books and games for all ages. I also follow a healthy meal plan. I have a great understanding of how children develop and grow physically, mentally and emotionally, as well as the importance of a well balanced day.
